6/18/2017 Born on Earth day April 22, 1952 in Longview, Washington; passed away June 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Hicks and father, Carrole Hicks. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Harry Rogers; daughters, Tiffany Valdez of Wyoming and Terra Rogers of Tucson. Her many grandchildren included Christopher Foster, Jeffery Foster, Sylina Olsen, Cheyenne Rogers, Andrew Rubio, Ethan Carlson, Nita Carlson, Gavin Rogers, Landen Rogers and one great-grandson, Blake Olsen. Carol left behind four siblings, Cheryl Edwards of California, Donald Hicks of Kelso, Washington, Ron Hicks of Kelso, Washington, Cathy Rowton of Washington and many nieces and nephews. Carol graduated from Kelso High school in Washington State. She married in 1971 and moved to Arizona in 1975 where she made many, many friends. Some of her most close friends she left behind included Nancy McClusky, Kellie Brazieal, Bill Lewis, Sherrie Clark-Holden, Phillip Shine and Debie Cessna and many more. Carol was such a fan of Elvis Presley in the 1980s that she picked up the nickname Elvis that has stuck with her to the present day. Carol was self-employed, had a variety of interests which included music, art, cars, motorcycles and working around the house. Loved by so many she will be truly missed by family members and her many friends. Some of her favorite quotes were "you can't fix stupid", "there is only one way to do anything and that's the right way" and "don't eat a bowl of stupid and ask for a second helping". We can all take joy in knowing her pain and suffering are finally over and that she is reunited with her parents; friends, Daniel Hunter, Scotty G. and Denise and her dogs Bear and Chewy. Family and friends ask that you join them for a Celebration of her life on Friday, June 30, 2017, 7:00 p.m. at Riley's Pub, 5140 N. La Cholla Blvd. Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.
