Maggie W. Brown was born September 25, 1926 in Wilson county in the state of North Carolina. She was born from the union of Mahala Sharpe and James Williams. Maggie was an only child, beloved by her parents. She was raised in North Carolina and educated there. She worked for the family restaurant business at an early age and developed a strong work ethic. She later worked toward obtaining her cosmetology license and practiced as a barber for many years. Maggie ultimately migrated to New Jersey where she married Thomas C. Brown on June 6, 1963. They had one daughter, Roth Brown from their union and one grandson, James Brown. Maggie (also known as "Pat", "Granny Pat" ,"Gigi Pat" and other names of affection) and Tom established their home and raised their daughter while in Springfield, New Jersey. For several years Maggie worked with youth to help their growth and development and sought to serve others. In 2000, Pat decided to venture to Arizona and establish herself there. She lived in Tucson Arizona for awhile but eventually settled in Green Valley, Arizona where she developed more friendships and relationships. Maggie prided herself on the fact that she was a hard worker and was accomplished despite her minimal education. Maggie found a church home with Valley Christian Church in Green Valley. However, she always found ways to serve others in her community, neighbors, Salvation Army, other church members and care give to those in need. If you knew Maggie, you knew she could be feisty, but you knew she would do whatever she could to help you and others through her great love for the Lord and serving Him and others. She will be sorely missed. Maggie is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Brown and daughter Roth Brown. She leaves to remember her, her grandson and numerous cousins, family and friends.
