Allen Rozzell, M.D.

Allen R. Rozzell, M.D. Allen R. Rozzell, M.D., age 71 of Atkins died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at his home. He was born February 13, 1937 in Scott, AR to the late Forrest and Agnes Carroll Rozzell. Dr. Rozzell graduated from Little Rock High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas in 1960 at which time he was called into military service. He was a captain in the United States Air Force serving in France for 3 of his 4 years of service. Upon his discharge, he entered study of pathology and in 1965 completed his residency in Pathology from the University of Missouri. . For 13 years he worked at St. Vincent Infirmary as a pathologist. From there he went to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Morrilton from 1977 to 1985. He worked as a family practitioner in Gurdon, Little Rock and Hot Springs. He also worked at various Emergency Rooms across the State. Beginning in 1991 he worked for 2 years in Saudi Arabia as a General Practitioner. Upon returning to the United States he resumed working as an Emergency Room Physician until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of over 23 years Pattie Hubbard Rozzell of Atkins; Four daughters, Leslie Rozzell (Scott Breeding) of Arizona, Allison Rozzell of Arizona, Amy Hubbard (Mike) of Conway and Lauren Barnes of Little Rock; One son Greg Rozzell (Elizabeth) of Arizona; one stepson, Todd Knifong (Tracy) of Benton; and one stepdaughter, Tammy Knifong of Little Rock; six granddaughters, one grandson and two great-grandsons. There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Lemley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Lemley Funeral Home with a short visiting period from 12:30 until service time. The Reverend John Vise will officiate. Burial will follow at the Atkins City Cemetery. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association of Arkansas, 211 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205-9869.
