Alta Kimberlin

Alta Mae Kimberlin of Atkins, age 88, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at the Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Daughter of Corry and Levonia Driver Burnett, she was born February 16, 1919, in the Economy Community of Atkins. She was a member of the Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Charter member of the Atkins VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a retired homemaker and an avid gardener. Alta was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond “Red” Kimberlin, her parents, and three brothers, Brown, Guy and Donald Burnett. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wewers and husband Ray, of Russellville; grandson, Jeff Humphrey, and wife Jeanine, children, Logan and Lauren of Russellville; granddaughter, Tori Smith, and husband Mike, children, Zak, Brad and Lexie of Dover; John and Dana Wewers, children Josh and Cody of Pottsville; Lisa and Abel Almendariz, children Amelia and Anthony of League City, TX; Paul and Lynn Wewers, children Haley, Edmond and Kateri currently serving in the US Navy in Japan. Other survivors are her brother, Corry, Jr. Burnett and wife Corrine of Atkins; sister-in-law, Patty Burnett of Tulsa, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM , July 18, 2007, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Bishop and Rev. William Wewers presiding. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Jeff and Logan Humphrey, Mike Smith, Bob and Jim Burnett, Scott and Guy Burnett, Larry and Richard Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers are the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Polly Tackett and Dorothy Wiley. The family request memorials be made to the Atkins VFW Ladies Auxiliary or the Arkansas Hospice of Russellville, Arkansas.
