Anna Mae Black, 94, of Atkins, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home. She was born December 30, 1923, in Atkins and was the daughter of the late William J. and Savannah Esabelle Reynolds Hightower. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Black; a son, Larry Black; a daughter, Frances Harris; three brothers; and two sisters. She was a member of the Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Michael Black; 4 daughters, Shirley (Tommy) Williamson, Vonda (Tommy) Freeman, Brenda (Terry) Petty, Linda (Fred) Petty; a sister, Bessie Hinman; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 Pm Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny McCoy and Tony Lee officiating. Burial will be in Bells Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
