Benard F. Hegeman, 95, of Hector, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Stella Manor Nursing in Russellville. He was born August 18, 1921, in Atkins, son of the late Ben and Anna Synder Hegeman. He was a member of the Hector First Baptist Church and was a Navy Veteran who served during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Beth Holley; 2 brothers; and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hegeman; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and husband Donny Barefield of Russellville, and Rebecca and husband Matt Barnhardt of Greenbrier; sister, Rita Hoelzeman of Morrilton; 7 grandchildren, Terri Tanner, Lisa Gilkey, Scott Nicholson, Tracy Reynolds, Rachel Barnhardt, Justin Barnhardt, and Andrew Barnhardt; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 4, at Hector First Baptist Church with Rev. Ira Taylor and Rev. Larry Pless officiating. Burial is in Rock Springs Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Lemley Chapel. Pallbearers are Dennis Langford, Ricky Langford, Rodney Dixon, Scott Nicholson, Jeffery Reynolds, and Melvin Emerson.
