Betty Pew Maxwell Obituary

Betty Pew Maxwell, 97, of Atkins died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Atkins Nursing Center. She was born in Moreland December 20, 1911 the daughter of Willie and Annie Tackett Crites and was their only child. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Pew, in 1962. In 1966, she married Moody Maxwell, who also preceded her in death in February of 1992. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Lauren Shaw, and she was a charter member of the Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James Fay and Lou Ann Pew of Conway, John and Ann Pew of Atkins, Truman and Virginia Pew of Russellville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ida Ruth and Burton Dunlap of Wichita, Kansas, Agnes and Charles Burris of Flint, Michigan; grandchildren, Ronnie Burris, Janet Burris, Linda Burris and husband, Brian, Dan and Jan Dunlap, Van and Cami Dunlap; Bentley and Angela Pew, Sarah and William Shaw; Bill Pew, Tracy and Jerry Anderson; Laura Stephenson, Mike and Tracy Pew, Jeff and Lisa Pew; 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
