Burgess Brashear Obituary

Burgess Brashear, 81, of Atkins, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2014, at the Atkins Nursing Center. He was born September 27, 1932, in Pope County, son of the late Burgess E., Sr., and Helen Allen Brashear. He was a member and Sunday School teacher at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elouise Brashear; 2 brothers, Bob Brashear and Tommy Brashear; and a grandson, Blake Embry. He is survived by a son, Donald Brashear and wife Linda; 2 daughters, Becky and husband Randy Clark, and Melinda and husband Bobby Harris; brother, Ronnie Brashear and wife Janice; grandchildren, Heath Brashear and wife Catherine, Clayton Brashear and wife Courtney, Daniel Brashear and wife Melissa, Amanda and husband Danny Duvall, Jenny Bouzek, Crystal and husband Grant Riley, Charlie David Casto III, Ciara Harris and Justin Harris; numerous great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Bella. Memorial services will be held 5:30 PM, Thursday, August 7, at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. David Bishop officiating. Burial is private in St. Joe Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
