Burnette Gregory Nelson, 84, of Benton, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant AR. She was born February 20, 1925, in Atkins, AR to the late Floyd “Shorty” and Cleo Dutton Gregory. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Nelson and a sister, Juanita Young. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Benton. She is survived by her sister, Burmell Crawford of Atkins; nieces, Rita Parson, Leda Sue McFarland, Sharon Ward, Barbara McElroy; a nephew, Allen W. Crawford; many great and great-great nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends. Other survivors are special friends and caregivers, Rhonda Beadle, Betty Wilkerson, Mary Talbert, Diana Richard, two beloved pastors and their wifes, Bro. and Mrs. Horace Gray and Bro. and Mrs. Elvis Smith. Family comments: Burnie had a beautiful heart and loved everyone, many will continue to love and cherish her. A memorial service will be at a later date, arrangements by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
