Catheryn E. “Money” Harrison, 96, of Springdale, formerly of Atkins, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at The Maples at Har-ber Meadows Rehab Center. She was born October 31, 1913, in Atkins, the daughter of James William and Sallie Mae Boyd Matthews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Louie Harrison; two sisters, Gladys Matthews and Evelyn Britt; and a granddaughter, Jill Leigh Harrison. She was a resident of Atkins for 89 years before moving to Springdale in 2002 to be with her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She continued to live independently in an apartment in Springdale until November 1, 2009, when she moved to The Maples because of her declining health. She took great pleasure working in her yard, planting and growing a variety of flowers. She was known in Atkins for the flowerbeds around her house. “Money” Harrison, as she was called by her grandchildren (and staff at The Maples), was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother, and was an independent and private person in the years she was a widow. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. James David Harrison and wife Linda of Springdale; sister, Lola Mae Hays of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Joy Jeffery and husband David, Jana Carroll and husband Jon, and Jamie Tenison and husband Bill; great-grandchildren, Christian Campbell and husband Jacob, Taylor Speegle and wife Jill, Jill Carrol, Justin Carroll, Sara Tenison and Rachel Tenison; and two nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Bobby Lane Pitts, Van Allen Tyson, Bill Tenison and Jon Carroll. Graveside services will be held 11:15 AM, Friday, October 29, at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10-11:00 AM at Lemley Funeral Home in Atkins.
