Cody Simmons, 29, of Atkins, passed away March 21, 2017, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born July 27, 1987, in Russellville, son of Bryan and Lisa Curran Simmons. He was hard working and selfless, had a big heart, and never met a stranger. He was always ready with a smile and a joke, and was an avid deer hunter and a great dad. He was preceded in death by his great-aunt, Pearl Dixon; grandfather, J.T. Simmons; and grandmother, Marjorie Ussery. He is survived by his wife, Sydney Simmons; 2 children, Blayne Simmons and Ily Tuttle; his parents; sister, Heather and husband Brad Southard; grandmother, Ottalee Azabell; aunt, Verna Kirby; uncle, Britt Simmons; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 25, at Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny McCoy officiating. Burial is in St. Joe Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, at Lemley Chapel. Pallbearers are Josh Coffman, Seth Davidson, Justin Bellott, John Kienlen, Chuck McCoy, and Brandon Horn. Honorary pallbearer is David Shirley.
