Columbus Aubron Heflin Obituary

Columbus Aubron Heflin, 93, of Atkins, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Brookridge Cove Nursing Center in Morrilton. He was born May 19, 1922, on Crow Mountain, son of the late Columbus A. and Millie Wiley Heflin. He was a retired carpenter and farmer, member of the DAV, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arkie; brother, Edmond; and a sister, Gladys.

He is survived by his children, Shirley and husband Dan Shuffield, Johnny Heflin and wife Sandy, James Heflin and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Colt Shuffield, Tracy Wages, Tammy and husband Brian Sweeden, Shelly Williams, Angie and husband Steven Baker, April and husband Tommy Agner, Chance Heflin, Chrystal and husband Luke Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Colton Shuffield, Preston Shuffield, Gregory Dalton, Zachery Wages, William Wages, Matthew Wages, Ellie Sweeden, Ivy Sweeden, Mychaela Mathews, Kutter Mathews, Cinch Forrest, Trell Forrest, Emily Tomlinson, Ally Agner, Lilly Agner, Branson Agner, Aubree Calhoun, Sadie Minton and Emersyn Cahoun; and a great-great-grandchild, Gavin Dalton.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 17, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Jim McNutt officiating. Burial is in St. Joe Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday.

Pallbearers are Billy Franklin, Dale Hill, Bobby Church, Jimmy McGee, Colt Shuffield and Chance Heflin. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons and Harold McGowan.
