David L. Craig, 61, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2011. David was born January 26, 1950 in Hector, Arkansas to Glen and Kathryn Hallum Craig. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1968. David served his country as a Navy Corpsman with the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam. He married Patricia Rachel in 1975. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Joshua and Aaron. David was ordained a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister in October 1979. He graduated from Bethel University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1982. David attended both Memphis Theological Seminary and Louisville Seminary. During David's service to the Lord, he served churches in West Tennessee, West Kentucky, Arkansas, and East Tennessee. Besides serving on numerous Presbyterial committees, David was elected the Moderator of both Memphis Presbytery and East Tennessee Presbytery. While in East Tennessee, David served several years as Chaplain for the Roane County, Tennessee Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Lytle and Bernice Kinslow Hallum, and Wesley David and Lillie Gertrude Caudle Craig. David is survived by his wife, Patty of Russellville; two sons, Josh and wife Cindy of Gallatin, TN, and Aaron of Kingston, TN; a granddaughter, Gabrielle Katherine Grace Craig of Knoxville, TN; three half-sisters, Denise Heimbach, Debbie Trail, and Donna Davis; a half-brother, Terry Craig all of West Plains, Missouri; an aunt and uncle, Jacky and Lila Townsell; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 12 at Lemley Chapel. Burial is in Palmetto Cemetery by Lemley Funeral of Atkins.
