Demeris (Mary) Bratton, 92, of Atkins, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Atkins Nursing Center. She was born February 5, 1921, in Hector, the daughter of Edgar and Maxine Jones Bowden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Bratton; son, Loyd Bratton; 3 sisters, Zelma Britton, Edna Branch and Billie Jean Jennings; brother, Burl Bowden; and a grandson, James Bratton. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy E. Bratton and Thomas Bratton; daughter, Missy and husband John Gibson; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services and burial is 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 9, at Bowden Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Branch officiating. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at Lemley Chapel.
