Donald W. Shipley of Atkins, Ark., was promoted to his Heavenly home on January 13, 2021, at the age of 83. Donald “Don” was born to his parents, Paul K. and Nancy N. Lewis Shipley on August 6, 1937, in Manila, Ark. Don met his wife Mary F. Ivy in Little Rock, Ark. and they were married on July 2, 1954, in Greenville, Miss. They had one son, Donald S. “Steve”. Don was an ordained minister with the Arkansas District of the Pentecostal Church of God, serving the district in various capacities throughout the years. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Hodge; his brother, Doyle; an infant brother, Darryll and his grandson, Daniel Shipley. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Atkins; their son, Steve (Karen) of Ozark, Ark.; granddaughter Karla (Peter) Blahut of Sarnia, Ontario; great-granddaughter Emily and great-grandson Joey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Don will be interred at Sharon Cemetery at 402 Shenandoah Road in Benton, Ark. on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 10 a.m. following a graveside service under the direction of Lemley Funeral Home in Atkins. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Branch; the obituary will be read by Rev. Bruce Smithson and special music will be by Rev. Phil and Kay Redding.
