Donald Ray “Animal” Sims, 47, of Atkins died Saturday May 19, 2012, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born December 12, 1964, in Morrilton, the son of the late Thomas Milton and Mary Duvall Sims. He was a member of the Atkins First Baptist Church, loved life and everyone he met, loved fishing, hunting, motorcycling and gardening, and was a licensed ordained minister. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, John and Jessie Sims and John and Eva Duvall; and his stepfather, Frank Hicks. He is survived by one son, Daulton Sims of Atkins; mother, Mary Hicks of Atkins; 2 sisters, Eva Eden of Camden, Mary Sue McNutt of Conway; fiancée, Jacque Reed and her children, Bailey and Conner Reed of Atkins; niece, Missy Reindl and husband Brian of Fayetteville; uncle, Bob Sims and his wife Rosie of Plumerville; nephew, Richie Eden of Little Rock; great-nieces and great-nephew, Jake, Rachel and Libby Reindl; and best friend, Phillip Hubbard of Atkins. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Lemley Funeral Home.
