Doris Bell, 81, of Atkins, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at her home. She was born January 18, 1933, in Sweetwater, TX, daughter of the late Howard and Margie Walden Havens. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a Dallas Cowboys fan, loved to dance, and was a proud supporter of the United States military. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Howard Havens, Jr., Richard Havens, and Kenneth Havens; and 2 sisters, Billie Dale Gaines and Beatrice Faye Noake. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack Bell; sister, Betty Huett; 4 sons, John Bell and wife Linda of Asherton, TX, Keith Bell and wife Joyce, David Bell, and Jeff Bell and wife Vicki, all of Atkins; 4 daughters, Susan and husband Dan Wheat of Pottsville, Brenda and husband Rodney Janzen of San Antonio, TX, Cheryl and husband Jimmy Earls of Atkins, and Jackie and husband Ken Rector of The Colony, TX; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 11, at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Rev. Chad Duvall officiating. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday.
