Elmo Bizzell

Elmo Gaines Bizzell, 87, of Atkins, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at his home. He was born September 22, 1929, in Kenwood, Arkansas, to the late Elmer and Mary Krissell Bizzell. He was preceded in death by six sisters; one brother; and his wife of 60 years, Lillian Sweeden Bizzell. A retired service station owner and cattleman, he was a member of the Atkins Methodist Church and former member of the Atkins City Council and Atkins Planning Commission. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rosanna and Lynn Embry; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Hope and Aaron Petty; two great-grandchildren, Macie and Mason; and a special nephew, Dale Mallett, all of Atkins. Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Friday, December 30, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Michael Blanchard and Rev. Naomi Rogers officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to the Atkins United Methodist Church or to the Bell’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Turner Skelton, Eddie Martin, Charles Drake, Raymond Staggs, Larry Bowden and David Harelson. Online obituary and condolences are available at www.lemleyfuneral.com.
