Freddie Carter, 91, of Atkins died Monday, July 23, 2012, in Little Rock. She was born in Springfield, Arkansas, December 10, 1920, the daughter of Tom and Della McMillan Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sally Price and Clifford Hargrove; and brother, Ray Clark. She was retired from Compton Mills and was a long time member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church. Freddie enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Marion “Bud” Carter; son, Larry J. Carter and wife, Katherine; two grandchildren, Daina Johnston and husband, Brad; Joe Carter and wife, Beth; three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Cody Carter and Jace Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25 at Lemley Chapel. The Reverends Kenneth Lee and Wayne Landers will officiate. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday. Pallbearers are Thurston Cantrell, Don Clark, Frankie Deavers, Rob Tackett, Paul Foshee, and Jim Turner.
