Harlin Jobe, 86, died August 31, 2010, in Lancaster, CA. He was born in Atkins May 8, 1924, the son of Lewis and Ollie Parish Jobe. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 479th Amphibious Truck Co., 1st Eng. Spc. Bridgade, and made the Invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach. He retired from the military in 1965. His second retirement was in 1986, from AVHMC, where he worked as a steam engineer. He liked to garden. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He also had a special affection for his little Yorkies “Tiger” and “Pooh.” He is survived by his wife, Mary Klaer; son, Larry Jobe (Cathy) of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary R. Dickerman of Atkins; brother, Lamarr (Ruth) Jobe of Newman, TX; nephew Glenn (Gayle) Austin of Conway; stepson Sam Zoda, and many friends. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 9, at Lemley Chapel with the Rev. Robert Woody officiating.
