Jack Walls

Jack G. Walls, 90, of Atkins, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born November 24, 1928, in Mobeetie, Texas, son of the late Jim and Eula Walls of Webb City. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Walls; and his daughter, Jennifer Choate of Maumelle. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Erin Hunt, Alex and Kimberly Hunt, and Brady and Brooks Hunt. They brought much joy to their PawPaw’s life. Jack was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He attended ASTC and graduated with a BA and MBA. He served 28 years as Superintendent for the Parkers Chapel School District and 2 years as Superintendent for the Dardanelle School District. Jack and Joyce began their second career retirement in 1986. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In the later years, they became Winter Texans in the McAllen area of South Texas. Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Monday, July 8, at Lemley Chapel. Burial will follow in Morgan Hill Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, at Lemley Chapel in Atkins. Pallbearers are Steve Harris, Jim Harris, Earl Boren, Brian Sweeden, Alex Hunt, and Jackie Bratton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to the Bells Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, Atkins, Arkansas.
