James Donald Mullican, 84, of Atkins, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Perry County Nursing Center. He was born July 20, 1929, in Atkins, son of the late Ernest and Jewell Gipson Mullican. He was a Korean veteran of the Air Force, retired from the United States Postal Service, and member of the V.F.W. and Atkins First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna; brother, Dean Mullican and 2 brothers-in-law, Billy Ray Duvall and Jake Duvall. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillie Mae Duvall Mullican; sister, Betty and husband Raymond Ryals; brother-in-law, Dain Duvall and wife Margaret; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Friday, July 18, at Atkins First Baptist Church with Rev. Farrel Duffel and Rev. Brian Ryals officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery.
