J.E. Merryman

J.E. Merryman, 92, of Plumerville, formerly of Atkins, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born August 22, 1924, in St. Vincent north of Morrilton, son of the late Elmer and Mamie Harris Merryman. He was a member of the Atkins First Baptist Church, the Arkansas Independent Dealer Association, and the Pope County Auxiliary Police. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James E. Merryman; brother, Dwaine Merryman; 2 sisters, Faye Hermes and Lula Mae McElyea; and step-daughter, Paula Mattox. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Merryman; daughter, Delana Merryman Herod and husband Drew; step-son, Robert Mattox and wife Lola; sister, Ruby Harrison; 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 14, at Lemley Chapel with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Pallbearers are Brian Gullett, Mark Hermes, Ivan Reed, Chris Roe, Aaron Roe, and Johnny Hearne.
