Jerry Davis Virden, 71, of Atkins, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born November 6, 1944, in Atkins, son of the late J.D. and Virginia Lee Davis Virden. He was a deacon and member of St. Joe Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Jennifer Virden Holley. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Virden; daughter, Lesley Virden Payne and Brent; son-in-law, Clarence Holley; 2 brothers, Bill Virden and wife Cornelia; Mike Virden and wife Diane; 3 grandchildren, Brooke Payne, Kobe Holley, and Katy Payne; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 7, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Jim McNutt, Rev. Fred Goates, and Rev. David Bishop officiating. Burial is in St. Joe Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday. Pallbearers are Danny Duvall, Danny Johnston, Jonathan Virden, Blake Brown, Dillon Hickman and Josh Schuermann. Honorary pallbearers are Forrest Duvall, Jimmy Massey, Dwayne Helton and James Ashmore.
