Jimmy D. Battles, 72, of Atkins, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 17, 1944, in Enola, Arkansas, was the son of Homer and Mattie Chance Battles. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy Ray Battles; 5 brothers; 1 sister. He is survived by his wife, Liz Battles of Atkins; son, Chris Battles and wife Shellie of Paris; sister, Patsy Robinson and husband R.L. of England; 2 grandchildren, Harley and Haley Battles; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Monday, June 3, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Adam Pate officiating. Burial is in Brown Cemetery at Enola under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is one hour before service.
