John E. Bass, 72, of London, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Baptist Health in Little Rock. He was born October 28, 1942, in Kings County, California, son of the late A.A. and Edna Smallwood Bass. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, and lived 62 years in California before moving to Arkansas with family in 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Art Bass; and a sister, Emma Easley. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Bass; daughter, Vicki and husband Wayne McDaniels of Atkins; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Justin Mayhew, Alyssa Currin, and John-Robert Schwindt; 7 great-grandchildren, Jacoby, Jaqueline, John Isaac, Gracelynn, Kalijah, Scarlett, and Bentleigh; 3 brother-in-laws, Charles Barnes, David Barnes and Jack Easley; sister-in-law, Pat Bass; and former son-in-law, Edwin Schwindt. A memorial service conducted by family will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 20, at Flat Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Blake Herren, Rev. Mike West and Rev. Ray Brown officiating.
