John Milton Ramsay, Jr., 77, of Russellville, died December 9, 2007, at his home. He was born August 24, 1930, in Goodmin, Wisconsin, and was the son of the late John M. Ramsay, Jr. and Rose Lee Gereau Ramsay. He retired after 25 years in the U. S. Navy, was a retiree of the San Diego County Child Protective Service, worked 9 years at Russellville Wal-Mart in sporting goods, was a big San Diego Chargers and Padres Sports fan, enjoyed playing golf and watching sports on TV and before entering the Navy was involved in Golden Gloves Boxing. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vernale Marlene Funk Ramsay. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Fredrick and Kathleen Ramsay of San Diego, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Lynn and Christopher P. Davis of Atkins; three grandchildren, Jennifer Ramsay Condon and husband, Bill, Jessica Ramsay Southard and husband, Ronnie, and Dylan Robert Davis; one great-grandchild, Kaitlynn Nalani Southard; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Judy Ramsay of Wingina, Virginia; a sister, Pauline Orlowski of Ormond Beach, Florida; two nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Bishop officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service.
