June T. Moore passed away on March 22, 2008 at the age of 90. She was born in Appleton, Arkansas on September 8, 1917 and spent much of her adult life in the retail grocery business in Missouri. She also lived for several years in California before returning to the Atkins area. She is survived by her daughter, Jerri Bowen and son-in-law, Bill Bowen of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons, Scott Bowen and his wife Dorothea and Kevin Bowen; and three great grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, and Angela Bowen, all of San Antonio, Texas. She also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Carol Hillis and a sister, Patricia Martin, all of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving are three stepchildren, Betty Sue Mueller, David Moore and Jerry Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl V. Moore; her parents Eva and F.G. Hillis; and four brothers, Forrest Jr., Bryan, Joe and Don Hillis. Funeral and visitation will be 10:00 A.M, Friday, March 28, 2008 at Atkins First Methodist Church, 306 N. Church street with Rev. Joe Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow at the Appleton Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
