Kathleen A. Austin, 65, of Russellville died Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. She was born May 14, 1947, in West Plains, MO, to Anthony and Goldie Rackers. She was a graduate of Russellville High School, worked at International Shoe Company of Russellville, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Women's Altar Society, and the Catholic Women's Union. She spent many hours making rosaries for the missions and doing arts and crafts which she enjoyed dearly. Her most precious times were spent with her family. She was known to everyone as Mawmaw Kathy, her most joyful moments were spent hanging with her grandkids and their friends at school functions, sporting events and church functions. She was loved dearly by everyone that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Goldie Rackers; and her husband, Charles L. Austin, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Christy Austin, Charles Austin, Jr. and his wife Cynthia, and Stephen Austin and his wife Angela; four siblings, Anthony Rackers and his wife Barbara, Bill Rackers and his wife Katie, Phyllis Boswell and her husband Mike, and Mike Rackers and his wife Elaine; eight grandchildren, Keaton, Katie, Decatur, Trenton, Hagan, Bresner, Carson and Lily; god-daughter Mary Johnson and her husband Chad; eight nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Rosary and visitation will be Monday, December 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at St John's Catholic Church in Russellville, AR. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 4th,at St John's Catholic Church in Russellville. Burial is in Bell's Chapel Cemetery in Atkins by Lemley Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Charles Austin, Jr., Stephen Austin, Keaton Austin, Brad Brewer, Travis Oertling and Billy Eheman. Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic School, 1900 West Main, Russellville, AR 72801 and/or Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial, P.O. Box 56470, Little Rock, AR 72215.
