Lawrence E. Hankins, 75, of Atkins, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born October 10, 1935 in Rowell, Arkansas the son of Jesse and Ethel Carver Hankins. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired plant manager of Timex Corp. in Waterbury, CT, and a member of the Bells Chapel Cemetery Association and Bells Chapel Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Doyle Hornaday. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hankins of Atkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and DeAnne Hankins of Fort Smith, Greg and Rachelle Hankins of Little Rock; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Bob Mann of Vilonia; grandchildren, Lauren Hankins, Taylor Hankins, and Connor and Chloe Porter; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Joyce Hornaday of Dacula, GA, Dorothy and Joe Adams of Savannah, GA and Jessie and Bill Compton of Decatur, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service and burial will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 20 at Bells Chapel Cemetery with Robert Hearne officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 PM. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Pallbearers will be Pete Hagen, Jerry Markham, Bobby Dixon, James Metz, Robert Willcutt, Bob Mann and Larry Bowden. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Simpkins and Doug Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bells Chapel Church of Christ in Atkins, Arkansas.
