L.D. Blankinship

L.D. Blankinship, 85, of Russellville, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1925, the son of Artie Odell and Eva Mae Gullett Blankinship. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a charter member of the Buttermilk Full Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice Davis Blankinship; sister, Viva Rhea Roark; grandson, Earl Blankinship; and a great-granddaughter, Tiffany Freeman. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Burl and Ann Blankinship; a sister, Bobbie Osbourn; grandchildren, Angela “Lou” and Harold Cochran and Rebecca and Terry Anthony; and six great-grandchildren, Brittany Freeman, Ashley Albert, Joshua Albert, Lindsey Cochran, Sierra Cochran and Whitney Cochran. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 1, at Tate Cemetery with Rev. Hank Duvall and Rev. Jimmy Chronister officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lemley Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are J.D. Chronister, Stephen Coffman, Terry Anthony, Lewis Henderson, Monte Coffman and David Evans. Jason Tarkington will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
