Lewis Campbell

Lewis R. Campbell, 80, of Russellville, went to be with the Lord Monday, February 28, 2011, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born November 19, 1930, near Birta, the son of Marion Ezra “Bud” Campbell and Eva Edwards Campbell. He was an Army Veteran and devotedly attended Mt. Vernon Free Will Baptist Church. He was a Master electrician and heating and air contractor for 30 years. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn. Of late, his favorite pastime was reading Western novels. He was the quintessential family man. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ezra Fay Campbell; and a sister, Wanda Lee Brand. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lottie Ennis Campbell; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike Ruder; son, Doyle Lewis Campbell, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Heather Akridge DVM and Nick (wife Sally) Ruder; great grandchildren, Bryce and Grant Ruder; brothers, Utah Campbell of Arkansas City, Kansas, Carroll Ray Campbell of Benton, Carl Jay Campbell of Perryville, and Bobby Campbell of Perryville; sisters, Vonda Brand of Perryville, Lavanda Pharris of Weaubleau, Missouri and Linda Hightower of Lake Overcup. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM , Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, at St. Joe Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Burris and Bro. Ronnie Molloy officiating. Burial is in St. Joe Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Pallbearers are Nick Ruder, Randy Wiley, Ezra Wiley, Eddie Ray Chronister, Dalton Simpson and Orville John Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Scruggs, J.D. Chronister, Dewayne Helton, Bill Duvall, Earl Lusk, Jackie Chronister and Herbert Hunt.
