Linda Alexander Obituary

Linda Sue Alexander, 75, of Sherwood, entered the golden gates of her Heavenly home on February 24, 2021. She was born December 30, 1945, in Missouri, daughter of the late Harmon and Juanita Morris Lackey. She loved Jesus, her children and her friends. Her home was always open to all for Bible study, bunko, or binge watching Netflix. Linda lived a large portion of her childhood years in Wichita, Kansas, where her father worked for Boeing. After moving to the Crystal Hill area of North Little Rock, Linda and her sister attended cosmetology school and later opened a beauty shop together. Seeking a career change, Linda worked for many years in several local dental labs. After marrying her husband, Wilburn Alexander, Linda moved to Blackwell where she once again opened a beauty shop while helping tend to the family farm. After Wilburn’s passing, she moved to “her home” in Sherwood adjacent to her daughter Kim. Linda was glad to be so close to family and so proud of the friends she made through “Willing Workers” Sunday School class of her new church home at First Baptist Church in Sherwood. Linda spent her final days preparing for her trip Home surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn Alexander; and her brother, James Lackey. She is survived by her daughters, Kim Wade (Kyle) of Sherwood, and Brandi Alexander of Van Buren; son, Greg Alexander (Tammy) of Russellville; grandchildren, Matt Rodgers (Kristen), Dillon Alexander (Laura), Hailey Hillis and Brittany Hillis; great-grandchildren, Keely Rodgers, Kaylee Alexander, and Avery Alexander; brother, David Lackey (Velma) of North Little Rock; sister, Doris Walker of Lonoke; and her canine companion and confidant, Chloe. A family conducted memorial service will be held 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 28, at Sherwood First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 1, at Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny McCoy officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Private burial is in Atkins City Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Online obituary and condolences are available at www.lemleyfuneral.com.
