Lloyd Elmo Haney

Dr. Lloyd Elmo Haney, long-time pharmacist and civic leader of Atkins, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. He was born February 16, 1935, in Atkins, son of the late Emmett Brooks and Viva Ford Haney. He served our country as a medic with the U.S. Navy, and served his community as a member of the Atkins P.B.A., Neighborhood Watch, the Atkins Masonic Lodge, and the Lion’s Club. He was former President of the Atkins School Board, and was an ordained elder of the Atkins Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Brooks Haney, Robert Emmett Haney, and Emmett Carroll Haney; and a sister, JoAnn Haney McCollum. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeannette Haney; 2 sisters, Mary Ellen Haney Horton, and Elizabeth Haney Norris; children, Jeffrey Lloyd Haney, Gary Bruce Haney, Mark Haney, T. Candace Haney Stevens, and Andrew Lloyd Haney; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 1:00 PM, Friday, July 3, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Jim Hays officiating. Private family burial will be held in Atkins City Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, at Lemley Chapel. Memorials in his honor may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Melanie Harris, 248 Round Rock Lane Russellville, Arkansas 72802.
