Lorene Byrum
Lorene Compton Byrum, of Atkins, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was born in the Burnett Cove Community North of Atkins, the daughter of the late Charlie and Luvary Blankenship Compton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Byrum; and her sister, Lucille Compton. Lorene was a Christian lady that loved to attend church services and participate in gospel singings. She attended Sweet Home Free Will Baptist Church and Atkins First Free Will Baptist Church in Atkins. She is survived by several cousins and their families; and many special friends. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 15, at St. Joe Cemetery with Rev. B.J. Duvall officiating. Memorials in her honor may be made to the St. Joe Cemetery Fund, c/o Mike Virden, 1608 N.
