Louise Freeman Obituary

On April 1, 2009, a beautiful spring day, Louise Freeman, from the Bullfrog Valley Community at Dover, Arkansas, went home to be with Jesus. She was born on Ledford Mountain in Bullfrog Valley to Earl and Eddie Mae Kraus Matthews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Troy Melton; granddaughter, Sara Beth Mason; sisters, Eunice Matthews, Edna Freeman, Liz Reed, Rhonda Pearl Ross, Annie Mae McNeely and one brother, Earl Matthews, Jr. She loved her church and was a Charter member of the Gospel Light House Pentecostal Church of God in Bullfrog Valley, but most of all she loved the Lord. She loved the woods and going for drives to look for wildlife. The Evans Mountain, where she grew up, and the Rock House were two of her favorite places, as well as trips around Jake’s Creek Road; she loved camping, fishing, and just being in the woods. Some of her favorite times were riding the four wheeler with her husband, Troy. She told a visiting preacher once, “If I live right, in the end God won’t have to send me to heaven, just send me to the woods of Arkansas”. She loved going and staying all day with Edna, Kat and Pearl; loved the quilting at Katie’s and Edie’s, loved to garden and work in her yard, and the fellowship of all those who grew up with her. She thought of Katie Williams, Emma Hull, and Clara Williams like sisters. They always treated her good and she knew she was welcome any time at their homes. She was just plain country woman who was the best wife, mother, sister and friend any one could have. She is survived by three sons, Bob Freeman and wife, Rutha, of Clarksville, Quinten Freeman and wife, Linda; Boyd Freeman and wife, Wanda, all of Dover; two daughters, Janice Glasspoole and husband, Frank, of Russellville, Karen Schwartz and husband, Donald, of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Leavell of Dover, Dorothy Grady of Clinton, Missouri, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral will be held at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, Hwy 164 West, Dover, at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 4, 2009, with Reverend Bruce Smithson officiating. Interment will be at Owens’ Cemetery in Bullfrog Valley, Hwy 164 West, Dover, by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, April 3rd. Active pallbearers will be four of her grandsons, Kelly, Bobby, Daniel and Darren Freeman, and two nephews, Ronnie Matthews and Gary Freeman. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Kevin Beavers and the Staff of Legacy Lodge. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2405 East Parkway, Russellville, Arkansas 72802, or to the Gospel Lighthouse Church of God Building Fund.
