Marilyn Bocksnick Obituary

Marilyn D. Bocksnick, 68, of Atkins, formerly of Russellville, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at the Atkins Care Center. She was born January 21, 1942, in Bayless Community, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Otto and Dorothy Sudmeyer Bocksnick. She worked at Arkansas Tech University for 26 years in the physical and life science department also earning her masters degree while there. She was a member of the Russellville First United Methodist Church, the Russellville Lions Club, Business and Professional Women, the Arkansas State Employees Association and the Arkansas Council of the Blind. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Tommy New of Dover; two grandsons, Brent and Blake New of Dover; and other family and friends. Funeral services are 2:00 PM Friday, December 17, at Lemley Chapel with the Rev. Dean Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is 5:30-7:30 PM Thursday. Pallbearers are Tommy New, Brent New, Bill Eaton, Gerald Hook, Richard Cohoon and David Eddy. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Russellville Lions Club and faculty and staff of Arkansas Tech University. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Russellville Lions Club, Lions World Services for the Blind (Little Rock), or the American Cancer Society.
