Marion "Bud" Carter Obituary

Marion Hill Carter, 99, of Blackwell, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Riverchase Nursing Center in Morrilton. He was born October 12, 1915, in Blackwell, son of the late Emmett and Etta Hill Carter. He was a retired farmer and member of the Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Freddie Carter; two brothers, Oscar Allen Carter and E.A. Carter; and two sisters, Oleta Deaver, and Mary Murdoch He is survived by his son, Larry J. Carter and wife Katherine; 2 grandchildren, Daina and husband Brad Johnston, and Joe Carter and wife Beth; 3 great-grandchildren, Christopher Carter, Cody Carter, and Jace Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, January 12, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Charles Hall and Rev. Kenneth Lee officiating. Private burial will follow in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Memorials in Mr. Carter’s honor may be made to Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, c/o Caroline Foshee, 13 Foshee Lane, Atkins, AR 72823.
