Martha Parton, 98, of Hector, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Russellville. She was born July 20, 1913, in Solo Community, the daughter of Robert and Georgia Cowen Helton. She was a homemaker, enjoyed her family, and was a humorous, delightful person. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parton; daughter, Glenna Walker; 2 brothers, Bill Helton and Lawrence Helton; and 2 sisters, Viola Taylor and Lola Hefley. She is survived by a son-in-law, Hillis Walker of Hector; sister, Olive Cooper of Bell Gardens, CA; 5 nieces, Joyce Standridge, Shirley Williams, Carolyn Fisher, Anna Nicholson and Sarah Ledford; 3 nephews, Bob Helton, Donald Helton and Rickey Helton. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Mathis officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM. Pallbearers are Bob Helton, Donald Helton, Rickey Helton, Dewayne Helton, Bobby Standridge and Roger Standridge.Obituary
