Mary Athelene Lewallen, 81, of Atkins, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at her home. She was born January 28, 1932, in Pope County, the daughter of Willie and Nancy May Duvall. She was the best cook and best homemade biscuit maker in town. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jackie Lewallen. She is survived by her husband, James Lewallen; a son, Terry Lewallen and wife Tina; 2 daughters, Panzie and husband C.W. Henderson, and Debra and husband Terry Daniel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and best friends Linda Moss and Mary Hicks. Graveside service and burial is 10:00 AM, Monday, March 11, at Bewley Cemetery with Rev. Hank Duvall officiating. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday at Lemley Chapel.
