Meta E. Blackwood, 99, of Atkins died Friday, July 30, 2010, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1910, in Fulton County, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Dolly Whiteside Dabbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Loral Hill and Roy T. Blackwood; and sons, Darrell Hill and Huey Hill. She is survived by her children, Ella Waits of Lincoln Park, MI, Helen Earnest of Hattieville, Johnny Hill of Conway, Clara Millikin of Atkins and Roy Blackwood of Tulsa. She and her children and grandchildren represent six generations. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 2, at Lemley Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Charles Kendrick officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation is 6-7:30 PM Sunday. Pallbearers are Dustin Biggs, Matt Banks, Lucas Blalack, Danny Farley, Larry Goodwin and Ed Dunsworth.
