Mildred Truitt White Obituary

Mildred Truitt White, 88, of Atkins, departed this life, Monday, October 20, 2008, at the Atkins Nursing Home to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with Dillard, her beloved husband of 69 years. Mildred and Dillard were married September 11, 1936. She was born November 5, 1919, in Tuckerman, Arkansas and was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Herbert and Ethel Goins Truitt; husband, Dillard White; six brothers, Vernon, Aubrey, Bobby, Willie and Leon Truitt; 2 sisters, Mary Lois Klais and Erma Niel Hubbard; a grandson, Jeffery White and a daughter-in-law, Beverly White. She was a homemaker and a member of the Atkins Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James B. and Carol White of Atkins, Bobby and Nancy White of Converse, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Rex Chambers of Russellville; two brothers, J. H. Truitt, of Iola, KS, Tom Truitt of Horseshoe Bend; a sister, Leola Woodruff, of Tuckerman; five grandchildren; Edward B. White, Rexann Pawloski and husband Scott; Angela Asbill and husband, Craig, Kimberly Witt and husband, Bryan; Lindsey Colston and husband, Allen; three step-grandchildren, Tiffini Shepherd, Shawna Turner, Natasha Wilson; seven great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Morgan Pawloski, Jonathon, Justin and Tanner Asbill; Hunter and Caden Colston; seven step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with Bobby Kuonen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Frank Pickle, Fletcher Shannon, Kenny Shannon, Sawyer Shannon, Craig Asbill, and Edward White. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Lackey, Nathan Legate, Charles Allen May, Odie Bower and Loyd Keener. Memorials may be made to Camp Caudell, c/o West Side Church of Christ, 2300 West C Street, Russellville, Arkansas, 72801.
