Opal Bermell Powers Obituary

Opal Bermell Powers, 90, of Atkins, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at her home. She was born January 24, 1931, in Moreland, daughter of the late Henry Lee and Ester Jobe Loveless. She was a charter member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Loyalty Chapter 512, and a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie Powers; infant daughter; twin infant sons; baby sister; and brother, Arivell “Bud” Loveless. She is survived by her children, Jackie Duvall, Allen Powers (Helen), and Karen Duvall (Jerl); grandchildren, Jeremy A. Duvall, Laura Holbrook (Ernie), Rachel Ketchum (Matt), Abbi Balch (Joey), Amanda Phebus (Jonathan), Joshua Powers (Maria), Emiley Powers, Aaron Powers, Matthew Powers, Cody Shaw (Denesa), Jeremy W. Duvall (Emma), and Chris Duvall; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jennings Loveless (Nina); 3 sisters, Dana Wigington, Jewell Borden-White (Don), and Lorene McGuire (Tommy); and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Funeral services are 1:00 PM, Friday, April 23, at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Burial is in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Pallbearers are Dennis Ray, Jr., Ernie Holbrook, Mitch Casto, Matt Ketchum, Mike Shaffer, and Jeremy Wayne Duvall.
