Rev. Robert "R.C." Higginbottom Obituary

Rev. Robert “R.C.” Higginbottom, 81, of Russellville, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at his home. He was born February 12, 1933, in Seminole, Oklahoma, son of the late William Thomas and Myrtle Farrar Higginbottom. Bro. Higginbottom was saved at an Oral Roberts tent revival in Fresno, California, in 1953. One month later he was called to the ministry, and he would serve the Lord for more than 60 years as a minister and missionary evangelist who shared the gospel worldwide. He was steadfast in his faith, devoted all aspects of his life to God, and had tremendous people skills. He was a member of Parker Hill Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Jack and Wesley Higginbottom. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Higginbottom; 4 daughters, Carolyn and husband Tom Neal of Tulsa, OK, Patsy and husband Ronnie Rutherford of Jonesboro, Jean and husband Walter Barnes of Beebe, and Roberta and husband Dwayne Qualls of Parks; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Higginbottom of Bakersfield, CA; 2 sisters, Beulah Gammill of Paden, OK, and Jean DeArmon of Greenfield, MO; and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 15, at Parker Hill Holiness Church, with Rev. Tim Brimm, Rev. David Harrison, Rev. Traves Mandrell, Rev. Michael Reece and Rev. Calvin Barnes officiating. Burial is in Pisgah Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Parker Hill Holiness Church, 1210 SR 124, in Russellville. Pallbearers are Jimmy Wright, Ricky Jones, Jeff Dodd, Rev. Brian Duke, Rev. Ricky Pruitt, and Rev. Michael Brandon. Honorary pallbearers are Dwayne Miller, Earl Page, Earl Halsted, Rev.
