Salud C. Vangilder, 57, of Atkins died Friday, November 14, 2008 at her home. She was born February 3, 1951, in Illagan, Philippines, daughter of Costancio and Placida Gangan Cabalonga. She was preceded in death by her father, son, Michael , one brother and one sister. She was a member of Atkins Catholic Church of the Assumption and Ludy was a full blooded member of the Ibanog Indian Tribe and a champion dancer at many native American Pow-Wows.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Vangilder of Atkins, son Melchor Zulueta of Mulberry, AR, daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Homer Friar of Morrilton, step daughter, Tanya Vangilder of Kansas City, MO., 4 brothers, 6 sisters, 2 grandchildren, Jonah and Caleb Friar.
Visitation and Viewing at 9:30 a.m. at the Atkins Catholic Church of the Assumption prior to Funeral Mass at 10.00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, the Rev. Father Ernie Hardesty officiating. Visitation is 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial is at Atkins Catholic Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Pallbearers are Walter Etheridge, Larry Egger, Charles Jackson, Perry Crowder, John Berkemeyer, Larry Burris
