Thomas Oliver Patterson

Thomas Oliver Patterson, 92, of Van Buren, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Crawford Healthcare in Van Buren. He was born in the community of New Hope, Arkansas August 29, 1919, the son of David Wheelis and Ola Singleton Patterson. He was a World War II Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and retired from International Paper. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene Patterson; daughter, Wanda Huneycutt; son, Larry Patterson; 2 brothers, Leland Patterson and Elva Patterson; and a granddaughter, Becki Ballentine. He is survived by a son-in-law, Joe Huneycutt of Camden; a great-grandson, Brandan Tippitt (Amanda) of Sherwood; great-great-grandson, Blaine Tippitt; great-granddaughter, Alicia “Codie” Hughes (Donald) of Jacksonville; great-great-grandson, Dillon Hughes; brother, Ray Patterson (Murlene) of Bell City, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 3:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Lemley Chapel with the Rev. Phil Tanner officiating. Burial is in Crossroads Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2-3:00 PM Saturday prior to services. Pallbearers are Ronnie Patterson, David Evans, Michael Hollingsworth, Brandan Tippitt, Donald Hughes and Donny Henderson.
