Violet Mae Younger, 97, took her homecoming trip to be with her Lord, Friday, August 15th, 2014, at the Atkins Care Center where she was a resident for 6 and a half years. She was born to Wilbur and Columbia Goines, February 28, 1917, in Sebastian County, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and loved gardening - especially her roses. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Atkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Auta Lee Younger; grandson, David Younger; 3 brothers, Fay Goines, Odie Goines, and Arbruary Goines; and 2 sisters, Lillian Pearce and Sylvia Wooley. She is survived by 2 sons, Vernon Younger and wife Anne of Hot Springs, Tim Younger and wife Glenda of Atkins; and grandson, Nick Younger of Hot Springs. Graveside service and burial is 11:00 AM, Monday, August 18, in Atkins City Cemetery with Rev. Brian Ryals and Rev. Tony Sparks officiating. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Pallbearers are Rayburn Pearce, Raymond Pearce, Buddy Goines, Robert Duvall, Duard Pearce and Todd Pearce. Honorary pallbearers are the CNA’s of Atkins Care Center.
