Virginia Lee Davis Virden, age 88, passed away Saturday,October 22, 2011, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born April 29, 1923 in Atkins the daughter of the late Chester “Check” and Minnie Duvall Davis. She was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Roy Davis; and her husband of 48 years, J.D. Virden. She was a member of St. Joe Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church clerk for over 30 years. She was a homemaker and retired from C&M Vending in Russellville. She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Davis and Judy Virden of Pottsville, Billy Lane and Cornelia Virden of Atkins and Michael Lee and Diane Virden of Russellville; her grandchildren and theirfamily who she was always Ma-ma to, Jennifer, Clarence and Kobe Holley of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Lesley, Brent, Brooke and Katy Payne of Dover, Ginny Lou Virden of Atkins, Jonathan and Jase Virden of Russellville and Jessica Virden of Russellville. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Monday, October 24 at St. Joe Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. David Downum and Rev. Jim McNutt officiating. Burial is in St. Joe Cemetery by Lemley Funeral of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday. Pallbearers are Jerry Davis, Danny Duvall, Tommy Brock, James Hallum, Phillip Haney and Doug Dodd.
