William F. Casto

William Filmore Casto, 93, of Atkins, died Friday, September 16, 2011, at his home. He was born June 6, 1918 in Tilly, the son of the late James and Della West Casto. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and poultry grower, and an avid sportsman. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diane Casto; two brothers, Frank Casto and Glennard Casto; and two sisters, Dolly Shields and Dovey Crow. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jackie Casto; four sons, Johnny Casto of Morrilton, Jimmy Casto of Atkins, Mike Casto of Paris and Mitch Casto of Atkins; two daughters, Joann Hartman of Ola and Tammy Casto of Atkins; two sisters, Jeannie Chase and Daisy Gilbert; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 19 at Lemley Chapel. Burial is in Union Hill Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday. Pallbearers are David May, Glen Casto, Robbie Shockley, Robert Davis, Rusty Davis and Scott Roth. Honorary pallbearers are Anita Davis, Ricky Davis, Buddy Davis, Karen McKinnon and Ray Caldwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bells Chapel United Methodist Building Fund, c/o Rev. Rebecca Wiseman, 306 N. Church St., Atkins, AR 72823.
