William Gibson Obituary

William T “Bill” Gibson, 86, of Atkins, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.He was born July 30, 1921, and was the son of the late William and Augie Turner McFaddin. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Atkins United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Fengler and Elizabeth Hickman. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Buna Gibson, of Atkins; a son and daughter-in-law, Willliam and Lisa Gibson of Atkins; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Joe Bunch of Mena; two sisters, Kitty Bowden and Margaret Helen Cheek of Overland Park, KS, and grandchildren, Russell Gibson, Molly Gibson, Jake Bunch and Bailey Bunch. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2007, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Kitchen officiating. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Darryl Flory, Charlie Adams, Larry Burris, Danny Webb, Eddie Tackett, Jody Peak and James Teal. Honorary Bearers will be Elmo Bizzell, Son Sweeden and George Bailey. Memorials may be made to Atkins United Methodist Church, c/o Maribeth Durbin, 206 NW 17th Street, Atkins, AR 72823.
